Circumcision Care – The Right Way to Care For Your Baby

Categories:

Circumcision Melbourne is a common practice among the Jewish, Muslim and Jewish families. It is done when the child is old enough to choose for himself. Circumcision, however, is not always required in the Jewish family. In some families, the baby boys are circumcised so that they can keep their foreskin clean all throughout his life. But for the Jewish families who do not follow this custom, the main objective is to reduce the risk of infection by drying the foreskin properly after removing it.

Circumcision care for baby boys is pretty easy. Keep it moist. This is actually the first and most important rule of baby circumcision care: Whenever you diaper your baby, gently wash away any small pieces of dirt that you might find on the glans. Using a dry towel, use warm water and a mild unscented soap, and let the foreskin dry itself on its own.

Once your baby has been properly circumcised, the foreskin should stay dry for about five days after the surgery. This is one of the basic requirements of good post-circumcision healing. Once the foreskin heals, it should remain tight and smooth without any excess skin showing. This also takes about a week or so for the foreskin to be completely healed. If the healing is taking longer, contact your doctor.

There will be some initial redness, swelling and burning sensation in the area of the penis that was not circumcised. This will subside within a couple of weeks. The redness will be reduced if you keep the diaper on your baby at all times and keep washing the penis often with lukewarm water. Some parents also recommend the use of petroleum jelly around the scrotum area of the baby prior to and after the circumcision. This helps to reduce the redness and swelling and can be left on the baby until the stitches are removed.

At about eight weeks of age, the baby should be able to move about without assistance. It is best for parents to allow the child to explore wherever it wants to go. However, it is important to have the child wear a diaper if it can. In addition, the diaper change should take place every two to three hours. This should be done even if the baby is experiencing pain or discomfort because it could prevent the stitches from healing properly.

As the child ages, the foreskin can retract over time and the penis will begin to appear covered in pubic hair. At around four to six months, the baby may no longer feel pain or be uncomfortable from the foreskin stretching. If the baby still feels pain or discomfort when handled, then it is best to seek help from a doctor. A doctor can give a prescription for topical creams that can help to soften the skin and prevent it from retracting. The creams may also be used on the penis itself after the circumcision.

Circumcision is not a fun experience for parents. However, it is important for them to remember that the process of caring for their baby does not have to be distasteful. In fact, it can be quite easy and painless. The most important step in caring for your baby after the circumcision procedure is to make sure the baby is not allowed to have any scratches or wounds. It is also important to ensure that the baby is cleaned up properly following the diaper change and gently dried off. If the baby is kept clean, then there is less risk of the infant developing an infection or having a more serious condition such as HIV or genital herpes.

Following the circumcision, doctors usually recommend using petroleum jelly around the wound. The reason behind this is to provide additional healing and soothing. The baby will likely feel some discomfort or slight swelling in the first few days after the procedure but this should lessen with time. The gauze used during the procedure should be changed every day and washed thoroughly with warm water. It is important to keep the gauze damp to avoid excessive drying and irritating the skin around the wound.
